Margaret E. Fox

Margaret Fox joined the firm as an associate in 2008 after four and a half years as a public defender at the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS). Her practice focuses on criminal and civil litigation in state and federal courts and parole and disciplinary hearings in the state prisons.

Margaret started her career in the CPCS Brockton Office where she tried numerous cases in District and Superior Courts. She successfully represented defendants indicted for rape, drug trafficking, and assault and battery. She then spent a year as a staff attorney in CPCS's Training Unit, teaching certification courses for private criminal defense lawyers and conducting trainings for new public defenders.

  • Internships at the Youth Advocacy Project, a juvenile public defender office in Boston, and at the Employment Litigation Unit in the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice.
  • Teaching assistant for Northeastern University School of Law's Prisoners' Assistance Project.
  • Admitted to practice in the Massachusetts state courts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
  • Member of the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association, and the National Lawyers Guild
